Quality Engineering, Other Job Summary

This experienced role is responsible for providing validation and quality assurance to production, R&D and supply chain. As part of the engineering department, you will work directly under the quality control manager to ensure our medical device products are compliant with the FDA, internal strategy, company directives and ISO 13485 standards.

  • Collaborate with QC team to define assurance parameters.
  • Test products to ensure compliance with external standards: CMDR, ISO 13485, QSR and MDD.
  • Work with production team to develop standard operating procedures .

  • Develop inspection methods under direction of QC lead.
  • Take a leadership role in the FDA compliance strategies for silicone polymer hybrid material.

  • Assist managers with supplier audits and corrective action plans.
  • Attend weekly meetings for GMP improvement and facility safety.
  • Take ownership and constantly seek ways to add value.
  • Stay current through continuing education, company training, networking and professional affiliation.
  • Draft business documents and technical procedure manuals.
  • Carry out additional administrative tasks as needed by the QC lead.

Quality Engineering, Other Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the medical device industry, preferably in a quality role.
  • Knowledge of GMP and ISO
  • Knowledge of U.S and International medical device safety standards
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • Knowledge of Risk Analysis. TQM is a plus.
  • Proficient with Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Mini-Tab or comparable application
  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to interpret written, verbal and diagramed information
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and regularly walk, stand, sit and bend.
  • Strong project management skills with the desire to work with a variety of teams and stakeholders.

An applicant reading this section should develop a clear picture of the expectations awaiting him or her once in the job.
