ERE is a name to be reckoned with in the recruiting industry. It started in 1998 as one of the first gathering places for recruiters online, and since 2001, the good people behind the digital platform have been running bi-yearly conferences.
The next upcoming gathering is this October 24-26 in New Orleans, and for the very first time, the MightyRecruiter team will grace the trade show floor (pre-book your demo now).
In anticipation of the company’s virgin appearance, I caught up with some ERE conference veterans to get the lowdown on what to expect at this fall event.
“The leaders we have speaking from big companies is something you can’t easily find at other talent events,” said Todd Raphael, Editor-In-Chief at ERE Media. “I’m talking about talent acquisition leaders from companies like GE, NBC, Nordstrom, Disney, EY, Lowe’s, Marriott, Nestle, Vodafone, Enterprise, and more, all under one roof.”
But like many in-the-weeds conferences (i.e. industry conferences that actually help practitioners improve at their jobs), there is much to be learned beyond the keynotes. Take the extra moment to say hello during the day. Networking goes a long way. In a room full of recruiters and talent acquisition leaders, everyone should be excited to network 🙂 Also, don’t sleep on the breakout sessions. In a smaller and more intimate environment, attendees can communicate directly with the speakers.
MightRecruiter’s own Ann Barzman will be presenting ‘Post and Pray’ has had Its Day. Creating a Successful, Effective Media Buying Strategy in Today’s Recruiting Landscape on Tuesday, October 25th from 2:10pm to 2:30pm.
“I’m really excited to be leading the insights lab and discussing a common issue all recruiters and sourcers face: What’s the best way to get my job out there? ,” said Barzman. “With so many job boards and avenues to find candidates, the space can get confusing and overwhelming. I’m looking forward to unpacking that process a bit and really digging into common issues and how to create effective media strategies in today’s landscape.”
Needless to say, successful recruiting continues to follow the evolution of successful marketing. And unsurprisingly, there are a few sessions at the conference devoted to brand creation and using design thinking to improve talent acquisition methods.
“The spirit of recruiting never changes, but the current processes, strategies and technology are constantly evolving to meet multi-generational and increasingly mobile lifestyles,” said William Marzullo, VP Global Talent Acquisition, 20/20 Companies. “ERE is the best place to learn about all these dynamics under one roof.”
And of course, don’t forget to say hello to MightyRecruiter at booth 205. Better yet, schedule your demo now!
